    Description

    Bartech Staffing is a leading engineering, technical and professional staffing firm, and our clients include some of the nation's biggest companies.

    Our client has engaged us to assist them in hiring a contract Applications Engineer. Applications Engineer

    looking for energetic self-starter engineers to lead the development of future model programs hinged closures from concept to customer delivery, ongoing quality improvement, and cost efficiency.

    Additionally, the candidate will be responsible to engineer the required CAD and lead analytical and physical analysis to deliver a system that will meet all prescribed requirements.

    As the program matures, responsibilities will shift to product testing, delivering PSW, and launching within one of Ford's many assembly plants.

    Willingness to work overtime and travel to support launches
    ~ Knowledge of automotive exterior components, including materials and manufacturing
    ~ Knowledge of automotive exterior components, including materials and manufacturing technologies such as stamping, injection molding, extrusion, forging, casting, welding, riveting, etc
    ~ Working knowledge of FEA, DFMEA, control plan development, and dimensional variation analysis - Capable with MS Suite of products
    ~3+ years in automotive or Aerospace (hinged closures preferred)
    ~ Sheet metal body structures, closures, stamping, static sealing and/or dynamic sealing
    ~ Experience solving current model quality issues, and implementing corrective actions
    ~ Hands-on experience with "in-house" engineering, design, release, as wel as managing full-service supplier commodities, with on-time delivery at cost & quality targets
    ~ Experience with bolted joint structures
    ~ BS Mechanical Engineering
