    Job Summary

    The DevOps engineer helps to manage our growing AWS infrastructure, including our development, test, and production environments. The role is responsible for evolving, enhancing, and extending our development and production infrastructure with the goals of improving efficiency while ensuring operational and security best practices are supported.

    Job Responsibilities

    • Configures, maintains, and troubleshoots Crossover's infrastructure and applications, including improving automation and tools.
    • Understands your customers - reflects requirements from Development, Operations, and Security experts in the infrastructure code and operating model.
    • Bakes stability, repeatability, and quality into the process of testing, staging, and deploying infrastructure code.
    • Architects/engineers the software deployment pipeline, including continuous integration, continuous delivery, production failover, and disaster recovery.
    • Maintains and enhances our "infrastructure as code" architecture using existing tools and incorporating others you've discovered and analyzed for selection.
    • Clearly documents the technical requirements, implementation details, and operating procedures of our infrastructure.
    • Monitors and maintains infrastructure spend, weighing the costs of various solutions and adjusting infrastructure code and/or contracts to maintain a lean and cost effective solution.
    • Participates as an enthusiastic core member of our team, working to anticipate challenges before they surface as well as quickly solving critical problems as they arise.
    • Performs other duties as assigned.

    Required Qualifications

    • 4+ years in a DevOps role (including Linux systems admin, network, configuration management, etc.)
    • 3+ years utilizing AWS or Azure as your production environment
    • 3+ years administering MySQL/RDS databases, including proficiency in querying
    • 2+ years developing infrastructure automation using Ansible, TerraForm, or similar tools
    • 2+ years of experience with continuous integration/delivery processes and principles
    • Experience with GIT or similar distributed revision control systems
    • Experience reading, writing, and maintaining scripts (ruby, shell, python, etc.)
    • Experience with a highly available and scalable SaaS solutions
    • Demonstrated excellent written and verbal communication skills - able to communicate technical issues to non-technical and technical audiences
    • Tolerance for ambiguity - highly effective in ambiguous environment and demonstrated ability to develop clear strategies and plans with appropriately managed risks


    Preferred Qualifications

    • Experience with the security policies and practices of HIPAA/HITECH compliant infrastructure
    • Developer or administration/operational experience with Ruby, Sinatra, GIT, MySQL, or similar tools
    • Experience with container operations using tools like Docker or Kubernetes
    • Experience with deployment, configuration, and administration of Nginx or similar tools
    • Experience with deployment, configuration, and administration of the ELK stack or similar tools
    • Experience with continuous integration/delivery tools like CircleCI, Jenkins/Hudson, TeamCity, or similar tools

    Physical Job Requirements

    • Include travel demands - expected to travel independently 10% of the time.
    • May require standing, walking and sitting for extended amounts of time.
    • Occasionally lift and carry items weighing up to 50 lbs.
    • Manual and finger dexterity and hand-eye coordination
    • Includes full range of body motion.
    • Requires corrected vision, hearing and speech within normal ranges. Must be able to effectively communicate with team members.
    The base pay range for this position is $107,771.00 to $123,937.00 per year. Pay range may vary depending on work location, applicable knowledge, skills, and experience. This position may be eligible for an annual bonus opportunity and comprehensive benefits package that includes Medical Insurance, Dental Insurance, Vision Insurance, Short- and Long-Term Disability, Life Insurance, Paid Time Off and 401K.
