Job Title: Medical Biller / Physician Biller

Hours: 7a-6p EST must be available during these hours,you will be assigned an 8 hour shift

Must haves:

• 2+ years of physician billing/collections
• Primary job is AR so solid follow up experience, and experience working with multiple insurances
• EPIC and Meditech EMR experience

Job description:

• Examine denied and underpaid claims to determine reasons for discrepancies and communicate directly with payers to follow up on outstanding claims, resolve payment variances, and achieve timely reimbursement
• Provide payers with specific reasons for suspected underpayments and analyze denial reasons given by payers, as well as work with management to identify, trend, and address root causes of denials, helping pinpoint strategies for reducing A/R
• Maintain a thorough understanding of federal and state regulations as well as specific payer requirements and EOBs, in order to identify and report billing compliance issues and payer discrepancies
• Transfer balances to self-pay or secondary insurances, and record appropriate, up-to-date notes in patient accounts, and provide insurance collectors accounts for follow-up
• Prepare, post, and process payment batches, post denials, contractual adjustments, and guarantor payments within payment batches, and ensure payment batches are balanced
