ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Reviews patient history and physician's orders. Educates patient regarding procedures, equipment and exam to ensure patient's understanding and cooperation.
When ordered, prepares and administers contrast media and/or medications within scope of practice. Monitors patient condition continually and reports/responds to changes in status as appropriate.
Prepares equipment and supplies. Selects appropriate exposure factors and imaging parameters. Implements safety standards and performs appropriate quality control procedures on equipment. Troubleshoots, resolves, and/or reports equipment malfunctions as necessary.

Positions patient and performs imaging procedure(s). Analyzes results and identifies issues with the quality of imaging results. Takes appropriate action to resolve image quality issues, including repositioning patient and repeating procedure. Enters, transmits and reports scan results.
Follows Infection control and radiation safety guidelines
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Minimum EducationGraduate of a Program in Discipline - Required (A current state licensure in the field will substitute for the degree.)
X Associate's degree X Preferred
X Bachelor's degree X Preferred
Required SkillsRequires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
Ability to quickly learn how to navigate multiple complex software systemsMust be able to communicate with the ability to read, write, speak and understand EnglishMust be able to successfully complete Skills Competency Checklist within 90 days of hireHandle with Care within 60 days of hire and renewed annually
Certifications:
X Basic Life Support (BLS) within 60 days of hire
Licenses:
Current Radiation Operator Certificate in the state of Kentucky.
Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technology in Radiography
Minimum Work ExperiencePrevious radiology experience requiredCT experience preferred
