We are looking for ambitious and energetic leaders to join our team at Quantum Pain and Orthopedic - North San Antonio as a full-time, Nurse Practitioner.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Provide medical services to patients, inclusive of all functions necessary to provide medical care under the direction of the physician
Conducts comprehensive health assessments (initial, ongoing, discharge), identifies normal/abnormal health characteristics, develops plan of care, initiates appropriate interventions, and evaluates care outcomes on defined patient populations(s)
Performs delegated functions under physician supervision, such as differential diagnosis, use of prescriptive authority, and treatment according to practice guidelines, protocols, and/or standing orders.
Accepts accountability for outcomes in health careUses critical thinking skills and clinical judgement to work autonomously as defined by the Nurse Practice Act. Collaborates with the Physician and healthcare team members to manage/coordinate patient care
Record accurate consultation data in patients' records
Charting in the patient's medical record is routinely to be completed on the same day as the patient's visit
Instigate necessary invasive and non-invasive diagnostic tests or investigations and interpret findings/reports
Provide safe, evidence-based, cost-effective, individualized patient care
Contribute to the practice achieving its quality targets to sustain the high standards of patient care and service delivery
Work collaboratively with colleagues within the practice
Follow all internal policies and procedures; be accountable for completion of all operational tasks according to departmental guidelines to ensure appropriate clinical processing/documentation
See patients in a timely and efficient manner, stay reasonably on time for scheduled appointments in practice throughout the day, unless exceptional circumstances occur
Maintains current licensure and credentials. Remains current in practice
Responds and comply to requests for information including sending faxes and e-mails
Report statistics as required
Protects patient and family privacy rights and maintains confidentiality of patient records in accordance to policy and procedure and HIPAA requirements
Follows all safety rules on the job. Reports all accidents promptly and corrects minor safety hazards. Communicates with peers and management regarding any hazards identified in the work place
Travels as necessary to other facilities
Performs other job-related duties and special projects as assigned
REQUIREMENTS:
Recognized by the Texas Board of Nursing as Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN)
Prescriptive authority privileges through the State of Texas
BLS, ACLS
Must have reliable transportation for traveling
