    Description

    SUMMARY
    We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Accountant to join our team. The ideal candidate will be entrusted with bookkeeping, preparation of financial statements, and management of accounts payable.

    Major Duties And Responsibilities (essential Functions)

    Manage daily bookkeeping tasks including but not limited to ledger entries, reconciliations, and tracking financial transactions.
    Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
    Oversee accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely processing of payments and collection of dues.
    Provide financial analysis and insights to assist in strategic planning and decision-making.
    Ensure compliance with accounting laws and company policies.
    Work closely with Chief of Staff to maintain transparent and comprehensive financial records.

    Additional Duties And Responsibilities

    Performs any other duties as requested by Supervisor.
    Completes all required compliance exams on a yearly basis.
    Adherence to all First United Policies and Procedures.
    Dresses professionally.
    Recommends to supervisor possible methods to improve department.

    Education And Work Experience

    A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
    CPA or equivalent certification preferred.

    A minimum of 5 years of accounting experience, with a preference for candidates who have experience working with companies and trusts.

    Technical/Functional Competencies

    Proficiency in QuickBooks and Microsoft Office Suite.
    Exceptional attention to detail and a passion for accuracy.
    Strong organizational and time management skills.
    Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
    High sense of integrity and discretion with the ability to maintain full confidentiality of information.
