    SUMMARY
    The Design Engineering Manager is a customer facing, management position responsible for all aspects of the Design Department


    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
    include the following. Other duties may be assigned.


    • Responsible for all aspects of Cenero's design department including design revenue, profitability, project & client management, employee management, system design and documentation, et al.
    • Assist with developing group budget and business plan.
    Meet or exceed financial targets and project cost estimates.


    • Manage the Design Engineering Department personnel including:
    • Develop written Objectives for all employees to support Corporate goals
    • Review Employee objectives on at least a semi annual basis.
    • Delegate responsibilities, communicate clearly, and efficiently manage staff
    • Maintain and improve employee morale as witnessed by retention rates.
    • Develop, Implement, Maintain and Improve Cenero's design processes, using Cenero infrastructure such as CRM, including:
    • Track and Publish design status information
    • Develop & Improve Cenero forms such as Site Surveys, Design Requirements, etc.
    • Document and continually refine Cenero's design processes
    • Develop process to continually improve and refine designs (i.
    e. like using CAT V transmitters and receivers for union jobs to reduce cable labor)


    • Develop design-only clients by:
    • Identifying & migrating current affiliate partners that can help secure new design business.
    • Supporting Sales Representatives on sales calls and with proposal creation
    • Develop, review, update and/or modify current design only pricing structure, as needed
    • Assisting with the development of marketing materials
    Success criteria will include number of appointments, opportunities, 'won' opportunities, and affiliates migrated.


    • Identify and migrate current affiliate partnerships that can assist in securing new design-only projects.
    Coordinate all aspects of designated design projects (startingwhen the Sales Order is received until the project is signed-off) including:


    • Responsible for, and be the focal point of, all communications with the customer
    • Coordinate project scheduling.
    Commit only to aggressive but achievable schedules

    • Keep all parties fully informed of project status by preparing and disseminating project reports, via CRM, for the customer and Cenero personnel
    • Attend applicable project meetings, visit customer sites & conduct site surveys (as required) to gather necessary information
    • Obtain customer sign off
    • Professionally represent Cenero to the customer and other project contacts and manage the customer's expectations
    • Create & Document system designs, for Cenero design build and design only projects, based on client requirements and Cenero standards including:
    • Creating and updating D-Tools and AutoCAD design files
    • Creating bid documents, as required
    • Creating site requirements, as required
    • 'Productize' strategic small systems for quick-turn opportunities.
    • Keep and Enter accurate time sheet information.
    • Create and Maintain personal objectives using Cenero forms.
    Obtain Management approval for objectives.


    • Organize and facilitate semi-monthly meetings to review activity and productivity as related to defined goals.
    • Other duties as assigned.

    QUALIFICATIONS

    EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

    Bachelor's degree (B. S.) from four-year college or university in an appropriate engineering field; or two-to-five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
    Applicant must have knowledge of AV fundamentals and ICIA best practices.
    CTS certification is mandatory.
    CTS-D is preferred.

    In-depth understanding of acoustics, basic electrical wiring and control systems is required with a working knowledge of related products and test equipment.

    Must also have experience with the installation and use of such equipment.
    Experience dealing with customers and construction related contractors is preferred
    Applicant must have sound technical writing ability
    Applicant must have experience in signal flow creation


    LANGUAGE SKILLS
    Ability to read, analyze, and interpret the complex documents including product specifications, wiring diagrams, and architectural drawings.
    Ability to respond effectively to sensitive customer inquiries or complaints.
    Ability to clearly and unambiguously communicate verbally or in writing.


    MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
    Ability to comprehend and apply principles of modern algebra and acoustical equations.


    REQUIRED SOFTWARE EXPERIENCE
    Microsoft Office Suite and AutoCAD


    REASONING ABILITY
    Excellent communication skills required.
    Ability to apply principles of logical or scientific thinking to a wide range of intellectual and practical problems.
    Ability to deal with nonverbal symbolism (formulas, scientific equations, graphs, etc.,) in its most difficult phases.
    Ability to deal with a variety of abstract and concrete variables.

    CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

    Applicable industry certifications and training are required.
    Must be willing to travel as needed.

    The work environment is typical office, but construction site visits could be noisy, loud and dirty. Position is responsible for all aspects of designated design and 'special-focus' projects.


    LOCATION
    This position is eligible for a remote, work from home location.

    Our preference is working in or near one of our offices in Malvern, PA; Lebanon, NJ; or Baltimore, MD.

    Employee may be asked to appear in person for department meetings or attend company meetings when required.
