Job Summary
Position requires application of engineering science and industry experience in the design, fabrication, testing, and implementation of existing and new equipment and processes.
Able to make use of related engineering subjects, including mechanics, physics, thermodynamics, mathematics, graphics, hydraulics, stoichiometry, in the completion of complex assignments.
Reviews progress and evaluates results. Works with minimum supervision. Recommends and implements procedural changes. Develops process improvements through capital investments. Provides guidance and assistance to other staff.Primary Responsibilities
Designs and improves industrial processes in order to maximize efficiency and productivity.
Coordinates with responsible departments in the design of new processes and procedures.
When assigned to the R&D staff, uses process and testing expertise required for special projects and new product research.
Prepares cost estimates for large-scale capital projects, bids and proposals, and internal funded studies and projects.
Supervises the installation and testing of equipment and processes.
Cooperates with management and Plant Engineering in the detail work in infrastructure improvements, capital expenditure requests, financial and economic justification, and return on investment.
Provides training and work instructions to new engineers, maintenance, and production personnel.Supports Maintenance, Production and Quality.
Stays informed concerning new technologies, materials and equipment, and investigates potential applications.
Performs additional duties when requested.
Maintain the highest ethical standards, even when challenged from above.
Understand and live by Armtec's ethics and business conduct policies.
Qualifications
Knowledge of chemical principles, unit operations, material strength, material science, metallurgy, hydraulics, and thermodynamics
Good math skills, computer skills, and knowledge of measuring instruments and methods.
Capable of integrating existing methods with new innovations to economically solve problems in a timely manner.
Must be dependable, responsible, and accurate and have the ability to deal with people effectively.
Project management and leadership skills
R & D support and testing experience
Energetic material knowledge
CAD & drawing experience (Pro/E, AutoCAD or equivalent)
Demonstrate ability in the Armtec competencies as an employee:

Education & Professional Work Experience Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or other Engineering Science with extensive coursework in chemical processes.
Minimum of 5 years' experience in the field.
