    They will coordinate timely decision making on project technical issues relying on internal technical authorities as necessary.

    Also, they will establish & manage the technical interface between all parties involved in the project including GEH engineers, customers, and engineering subcontractors.

    This certified, Licensed PE is co-located in Chicago offices of Sargent and Lundy.

    Job DescriptionRoles and ResponsibilitiesWork with GEH functional engineering teams to build estimates, schedules, and change ordersCoordinate and provide technical and delivery leadership for the projectBe accountable for engineering interfaces with multiple engineering disciplines, business project management, subcontractors, and customersProvide oversight for subcontractor engineering work on assigned projectsDefine critical technical project issues and ensure their timely resolutionIdentify technical risks and implement risk mitigation plansEnsure engineering activities are performed in compliance with customer, internal, and regulatory requirementsSupport commercial and marketing opportunities for Engineering including generating technical portions of proposalsKeep project and engineering management advised of project progress, performance, and resource utilization with particular attention to delays, adverse trends, errors, and omissions Work with Chief Consulting Engineers to coordinate Engineering Design Reviews as required for successful completion of the projectReview engineering performance on the project to ensure quality, conformance with design process, procedures, and completeness of engineering tasksPromptly review Design Change notices, identify change order candidates, segregate cost collection, and assist the Project Manager in pertinent aspects of change order management Perform Responsible Configuration Management reviews as required for assigned projectsEligibility Requirements
    This role is based in the Chicago, IL area.

    Only candidates local OR willing to relocate will be consideredRequired QualificationsLicensed Professional Engineer (Preferably in IL, USA)Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering preferred.

    All other disciplines will be consideredMinimum of 10 years of power industry project management, design, and people management or operation experienceMinimum of 5 years Experience in boiling water or advanced reactors and/or equivalent technical environmentDesired CharacteristicsKnowledge of nuclear business products, business processes, customers, and competitive environmentDemonstrated ability in meeting project budget, schedule, and quality commitmentsExcellent Leadership, influencing, communication, and presentation skillsExperience working with Government contracts and contracting requirementsAbility and willingness to travelExperience in boiling water or advanced reactors and/or equivalent technical environmentPrior experience working with architect engineer / subcontractorsIT / Computer competencyProven ability to think strategically, be creative and move quickly Established credibility with peers and managers based on experienceStrong technical aptitude, including applicable engineering tools and systemsPrimavera project scheduling tool experienceThe salary range for this position is $127.9K - $175K.

    The specific salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidate's experience, their education, and the work location.

    In addition, this position is eligible for a performance bonus.
