    As a key member of the Fluid Utilities Department, you will provide technical support for project design, installation, and start-up. You will utilize your expertise to assist all facilities of the company with Utilities and mechanical disciplines.

    • You must be able to make informed decisions through analysis, experience, and judgment. You should clearly assign responsibility for tasks and decisions and know what to measure and how to measure it. Additionally, you should be open to learning quickly when facing new problems and be willing to adapt to change. You should be able to break down work into process steps while continuing to monitor progress, and results; designs feedback loops into work. Understanding continuous improvement methodology and incorporating it into all areas of work is also essential. Consistently being a top performer who pushes yourself and others for results is expected.
    • Traveling to investigate new technologies and leading factory acceptance tests are essential responsibilities. Leading Multi-Facility efforts regarding Fluid Utilities and traveling as required, representing the company as a Utilities technical resource is also necessary.
    • Leading by example and respecting the people at WDI and the company culture is crucial. Being consistent in thought and action and creating strong morale through fostering two-way communications, empowering others, and holding people accountable for their work is vital. Creating a climate in which people want to do their best by openly sharing wins and successes and defining success in terms of the whole team is necessary. Motivating direct reports and team members and being someone people like working for and with is expected.
    • Coordinating facility or multi-facility projects or events for the utilities department (e.g. annual inspections) and coordinating the application of advanced technology across multiple facilities is a significant responsibility.
    • Designing piping layouts and/or equipment layouts (including P&IDs, plan views, and functional specifications) and updating engineering documentation for the department are key tasks.
    • Serving as a Team Member on capital projects and serving as a project manager on Fluid Utilities projects is a key responsibility. Duties include leading project installations and start-ups, with construction management, completing all associated documentation on time and in a detailed and professional manner.
    • Using a strong knowledge base of utilities-related technology, you will develop and drive concepts for improved system safety, maintainability, reliability, and efficiency.
    • Troubleshooting and providing solutions on project and system performance issues is a key responsibility. Directly repairing or coordinating the repair of system issues, collaborating with other areas of the company and/or equipment vendors or consultants to solve complex performance issues, and mentoring technicians in troubleshooting methodologies are also essential.

    Qualifications

    In addition to the responsibilities listed above, other duties may be assigned by your supervisor as dictated by business necessity.

    • A High School Diploma or equivalent is required. Advanced training in ammonia refrigeration and fluid utilities systems, and RETA CIRO and Boiler Operator certifications are highly preferred.
    • Six years of experience as a fluid utility and refrigeration systems maintenance within a food manufacturing environment are necessary.
    • Knowledgeable in Oracle Project Management, MS Outlook, MS Office, MS Excel, and AutoCAD is expected.
    • Project Management, effective communication skills both written and verbal, and the ability to put together project estimates and manage multifunctional groups are essential.
    • Managing multi-functional project teams of up to 10 people and managing portions (up to $500,000) of larger capital projects are also necessary.
