    Description

    The Office of Equity, Diversity, Inclusion and Belonging (OEDIB) seeks a strong Communications and Events Coordinator to serve as a key member of the team. This position reports to the Associate Director, OEDIB Communications. The Coordinator supports a wide range of activities within the Office of Equity, Diversity, Inclusion and Belonging, with a focus on email communications, website updates, marketing, and event logistics. Some Coordinator tasks will also support communications work within the developing Office for Community Conduct (OCC).

    The incumbent will provide overall support for activities related to OEDIB and OCC. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Plan, write copy, and track items for frequent newsletter communications.
  • Manage newsletter subscriptions and event registrations.
  • Complete website updates and develop additional website content.
  • Support ongoing website build projects.
  • Coordinate production of annual community update.
  • Support requests for OEDIB and OCC statements and other related content flowing into a wide range of documents and websites around the University ecosystem.
  • Support heritage month calendar planning and related working group.
  • Work closely with Associate Director on exploration of social media options and development of social media engagement plans.
  • Support communications components of larger projects, including key initiatives, surveys, and convenings.
  • Support in-person and virtual activities; assist with registration, outreach, event and program logistics.
  • Draft talking points and prepare presentation materials as needed.
  • Assist with communications and events-related financial processing: purchase supplies, prepare vendor payment requests, prepare expense reports, secure logistics arrangements.
  • Contribute and engage with strategic discussions as an active member of the team.
  • Design and distribute office materials, templates, branded items, gifts.
  • Edit digital documents, flyers, posters, and copy as needed.
  • Assist with special projects and research as needed.
  • Foster inclusive and accessible services and events while modeling team values.
