Job Title: Maintenance B

3rd Shift Position - Hours: 7pm - 5:30am Sunday - Thursday, Rotational Weekends On Call

Pay: $25 - $30/hr. pending experience, 3rd Shift Premium $3.75/hr.

SUMMARY

Installs, maintains, and repairs machinery, electrical equipment/systems, piping, and facility equipment/structures by performing the following duties.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.

Visually inspects and troubleshoots machinery and equipment.
Listens for unusual sounds from machines or equipment to detect malfunction and discusses machine operation variations with supervisors, machine operators or other maintenance workers to diagnose problems or repair machines.
Dismantles defective machines and equipment and installs new or repaired parts.
Preventive maintenance-lubrication adjustments, cleaning, etc...
Operates cutting torch or welding equipment to cut or join metal parts.

Building Maintenance
Other duties may be assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Will be required to attend Maintenance Mechanic and Industrial Electrician Apprenticeship programs.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before employees of organization.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instruction furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and fumes or airborne particles. The employee is frequently exposed to extreme heat and risk of electrical shock. The employee is occasionally exposed to high, precarious places; outside weather conditions; extreme cold; and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually very loud.

COMPETENCE, AWARENESS AND TRAINING

Competence, awareness, and training for probationary employees will be assessed by the "New Employee Checklist," and the evaluations conducted at 90 days, along with other training as needed. Competence, awareness, and training for regular employees will be assessed when annual evaluations are conducted, along with other measurements in accordance with the area the employee is assigned to.
