    Job Description

    We are currently looking for 2 temporary-full-time, one-year contract Senior Financial Analysts. One role will be located at Toronto General Hospital and one role will be located at Toronto Western Hospital

    Position Summary

    As a key member of the financial services function, the Senior Business Analyst performs a broad scope of professional accounting activities requiring experience, professional knowledge, and application of accounting principles and practices.

    The scope of the role includes effective financial planning, performance measurement, and analysis of activities, revenues, and costs.

    The role works closely with senior management, unit managers, and directors reviewing, strategizing and making recommendations on Unit/Program financials; preparing and analyzing monthly/quarterly packages to facilitate decision making and financial/activity reporting.

    Duties
    Support core financial processes (annual budget, quarterly forecasts, monthly reporting) to build a solid and compelling financial plan that meets the expectations of the clinical program
    Support clinical stakeholders with analyzing and evaluating unit/division level financials on a monthly basis
    Lead month-end process through the preparation of journal entries and reporting of clinical volumes
    Provide support to business manager by regularly meeting with clinical managers to investigate variances while identifying risks and opportunities; coordinating monthly program level financial review presentations and attending monthly business unit meetings to discuss performance
    Modelling and analyzing large volume of clinical data to help drive decision making includingcase volume and personnel planning
    Providing sound and timely information to the management team to facilitate optimal decision making
    Participate in ad-hoc clinical and financial projects by providing financial/statistical analysis andstrategic insights to drive decision making
    Liaising with corporate finance departments for program financial management, activity reporting, case costing, and funding proposals, as well as funding reconciliations and audit requirements
    Performing cross-functional and/or other duties consistent with the job classification, as assigned or requested
    Qualifications

    Professional accounting designation (CPA) or business degree with relevant experience
    University degree in Business Administration or equivalent program; MBA is an asset
    Three to Five (3-5) years related experience in an accounting environment with exposure to analyze and interpret complex financial/business data
    Experience in a healthcare environment, preferred
    Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
    Excellent organizational, time management and interpersonal skills
    Excellent verbal and written communication skills
    Ability to take initiative and embrace challenges
    Ability to work accurately under stressful condition and to meet tight deadlines
    Experience in business case analysis, able to translate operation situation into financial forms
    Adheres to confidentiality policy for sensitive financial and clinical data and information
    Working knowledge of Health System Funding Reform is an asset
    Proficient in Microsoft Office, extensive knowledge of Access and Excel, experience with SAP an asset
