Description
SummaryThe Cook position prepares and serves food following menus and recipes in accordance with federal, state, and local regulations as well as MLHS Nutrition Services policies and procedures.
Job Duties for CookPrepares food according to the menu, recipes, prep/pull sheets, and diet extensions following safe food handling proceduresEnsures portion control, temperature, and appearance of all items meet standardsPrepare, set up, serve and clean up special catering eventsEnsures timely beginning of meal serviceAssist with meal service as assignedOperates dish machine to wash dishes, pots, pans, and utensilsStores clean dishes according to standardsClean and sanitize food delivery equipment Follows cleaning and sanitizing proceduresPerform work efficiently while maintaining a neat sanitary work areaPromptly report malfunctioning equipment to Manager, Lead, Nutrition Services Coordinator, and/or MaintenancePrepares and delivers snacks per rotationMay be assigned to run the cash registerPut away groceries as assignedRequired Education and ExperiencePrevious quantity cooking experiencePreferred Education and ExperienceHealth care industry experienceHigh school diploma or equivalentServSafe certifiedPosition Type/Expected Hours of WorkService Worker.
Shifts are scheduled Monday through Sunday with day and evening shifts, rotating weekends and holidays.Must complete criminal background check as required by the State of MN and drug screening per MLHS policy.
