    Job DescriptionThis role supports the Caribbean Market Manager in underwriting a portfolio of selected Caribbean accounts to achieve group underwriting metrics.

    Develop and maintain relationships with Clients and Brokers with a visible market presents through conference attendance and periodic market visits.

    This is a dual role of profitable underwriting and marketing. This role will also include collaboration with other Market Managers to evaluate business in the rest of Latin America.

    ResponsibilitiesSupports the Caribbean Market Manager in managing the reinsurance treaty portfolio of clients in allocated in the Caribbean, which includes marketing, planning, underwriting, results monitoring, ensuring compliance with SCOR process / procedures / guidelines for (i) risks analysis, (ii) cat exposures assessment, (iii) pricing, and (iv) underwriting delegated authorities.

    The jobholder is also responsible for developing and maintain relationships with clients and brokers within the region.

    This role will also include collaboration with other Market Managers to evaluate business in the rest of Latin AmericaP&C Treaty Underwriting:
    Achieve the profitability target of assigned portfolio, in adherence to SCOR's UW Plan, UW guidelines and best practices while respecting internal processes (incl. UW, pricing, CAT Modelling) and risk appetite, to actively steer the assigned portfolio according to primary insurance and reinsurance market environment.

    • P&C treaty underwriting as per guidelines and procedures
    • Analysis and management of assigned treaty portfolio: incl. cat exposure monitoring, portfolio profile analysis, pricing & modelling (in conjunction with actuaries and with modelers) activity, identify critical issues and discussing with clients / brokers to resolve and monitor the matter
    • UW Plan's execution in all its dimensions (including new clients / other line of business / deals, underwriting reviews, SCOR P&C internal projects)
    • Quality control on underwriting and data maintenance including claims and exposure data entered in Omega, Pacman, and other tools as per SCOR P&C procedures
    • Follow up the handling / reserving of large claims in close coordination with claims department
    • In close coordination with Team Lead / Area CUO to drive the portfolio to expand business initiatives launched in the Latam and Caribbean markets

    Client Relationship Management:
    Enhance client engagement within allocated market, establish client needs, and identify SCOR Business opportunities. Discuss and provide solutions to internal providers in achieving the planned targets.

    Working closely with UWRs and specialists and coordinate the interests of the stakeholders to provide to assigned clients with holistic offering of SCOR's technical services and capabilities.


    • Coordinates, participates, and leads various underwriting / marketing activities.
    • Responsible for driving profits from managed clients for all line of business, via maintaining a high level of technical and commercial relationships with various stakeholders (incl. brokers), to identify prospects (needs and opportunities) and generate new offers through pro-active marketing
    • Negotiates terms on request and within the relevant guidelines for all new and renewal business with cedants and brokers, including being able to discuss complex technical matters with a mindset of a solution provider
    • To increase and enhance the weight of lead / private / innovative deals with assigned clients
    • To improve and update information on client's files in SalesforceInternal Control and Compliance: Adherence of internal control and compliance as per established rules, including but not limited to
    • Checking of reinsurance slip, treaty wording and endorsements
    • Review of the EGPI and Loss Ratio as per internal control rules
    • KYC, Sanctions and Embargo checks as per legal requirements before the on-boarding of new clients and/or inception of treaties underwrittenQualifications 5-10 years of prior reinsurance underwriting, primary underwriting or reinsurance broking experience required Client-minded communicator and team worker with intercultural and interpersonal competencies Excellent decision-making and negotiation skills Strong knowledge regarding (property and casualty) reinsurance or insurance. Strong analytical skills An open mind, creativity and business sense in coming up with solutions Language appropriate to assigned market - Spanish & English Establishing product development projects as well as innovative and customized solutions with customers and newly established partners Promoting internal collaboration with other departments, such as the cyber unit or customer management, and network with experts worldwide Ensuring that exposures are always kept within allocated limits College Degree/Professional QualificationSCOR is committed to an "in-office" culture where people can collaborate, exchange ideas, and establish stronger working relationships while still providing flexibility.
