    This position will support our Evansville operation. Must be comfortable with travel throughout the week within a 3-4 hour radius.

    SUMMARY:

    The Field Engineer works closely with field supervisors in managing construction aspects of the project. He or she will be familiar with the roles of the Superintendent, Project Engineer, and Project Manager and will assist them in managing all construction processes to reach the goals set for the project. He or she will work closely with the Superintendent and Foremen. Duties will typically include, but are not limited to, layout, field purchasing, document control, preplanning, safety, quality, production management, and project closeout.

    PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
    • Supports implementation of Bowen SQP process
    • Participate in all preplanning activities
    • Performs layout duties as required by the Superintendent
    • Maintain field document control systems
    • Interprets designs and drawings; Researches and recommends resolutions to drawing interpretation problems, conflicts and errors
    • Prepares RFIs. Maintains RFI logs and timely response to job questions
    • Prepares drawings and sketches to support construction work, change orders, estimates, etc.
    • Ensures approved shop drawings, plans and specifications, and accurate field measurements are utilized in Operations Plans execution and addresses discrepancies with Project Team
    • Manages Field Procurement System
    • Performs new-hire orientations and ensures appropriate paperwork is completed and forwarded onto HR/Payroll for processing.
    • Ensures craft payroll is completed accurately, reflecting hours worked and tasks worked on; assigns cost codes to all purchases, time cards, equipment time and any other item involving cost
    • Assists Superintendent with daily job reports and schedule monitoring
    • Assist in daily production management activities including evaluation of daily crew cost against activity budget
    ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
    • 4 year engineering degree or equivalent technical training and related experience
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
    • Ability to read and interpret plans
    • Excellent computer skills
    • Basic understanding of cost analysis
