    Description
    Responsible for providing professional nursing care for Care Center patients following established standards and practices. Assists physicians and staff in coordinating patient care.

    Essential Functions:
    Provides general nursing care to patients.
    May administer prescribed medications, immunizations and treatments in accordance with nursing standards.
    Maintains exam rooms for necessary supplies and materials. Prepares list of medical supplies neededPrepares equipment and aids physician during treatment, examination and testing of patients.
    Observes, records and reports patient's condition and reaction to drugs and treatments to physicians.
    Educates patient/family about diagnostic procedures, medications, nutrition and maintenance of health and wellness.
    Ensures appointment preferences are given to patients in emergency situations. Greets patients and prepares them for physician examination. Screens patients for appropriation information. Instruct patients in collection of samples and tests.
    Maintains/reviews patient records, charts, and other pertinent information. Posts tests and examination results.
    Responds to/refers incoming patient treatment-related phone calls. Instructs patient and family regarding medications and treatment instructions.
    Adheres to infection control/safety guidelines, and confidentiality policies.
    Perform other duties/tasks as requested by providers, coordinators, and management in accordance with office procedures/policies.
    Maintains confidentiality and uses discretion when handling patient's medical records and information.


    Required Skills/Abilities:


    Knowledge of professional nursing theory, practices, and regulations to give and evaluate patient careKnowledge of how to use medical equipment and instruments to administer patient care.

    Knowledge of common safety hazards and precautions to establish/maintain a safe work environment.
    Skill in applying and modifying the principles, methods, and techniques of professional nursing to provide ongoing patient care.
    Skill in taking medical histories to assess medical condition.
    Ability to maintain quality control standards.
    Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations.
    Ability to interpret, adapt and apply guidelines and procedures.
    Ability to communicate clearly and establish/maintain effective working relationships with patients, medical staff and the public.


    Education and Experience:
    Must have an active RN licenseRN degree required; BSN preferredMinimum one-year professional nursing experience preferred
