    Project Overview:

    An esteemed engineering and construction firm is embarking on a pioneering nuclear power project involving the design and construction of advanced nuclear power reactors. This significant venture aims to enhance the nuclear energy infrastructure, contributing to a sustainable energy future. The role is based in Reston, VA, with possible travel to Poland for project requirements.

    Position Summary:

    The Electrical Designer plays a crucial role in the design and layout of electrical systems, including raceways, equipment placement, and the creation and update of schedules. This role involves generating detailed drawings and documentation to match specific design concepts and scope, including lighting design, grounding, and lightning protection systems. Part-time telework may become available as the project progresses.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Design and layout of electrical raceways, equipment locations, and schedules.
    • Development of specifications for custom equipment and materials.
    • Production of detailed drawings in line with project standards.
    • Use of CAD and cable management software for design and documentation.
    • Compliance with all relevant codes, regulations, and standards.
    • Effective teamwork and communication within the project team.

    Qualifications:

    • AA/AS degree with 3+ years of related design experience, or a high school diploma with 7+ years of experience.
    • Prior experience in a nuclear, quality, and safety environment preferred.
    • Proficiency in CAD 2D/3D and familiarity with electronic Cable Management Systems.
    • Extensive knowledge of electrical codes and standards.
    • Strong oral and written communication skills.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Experience with specific design software and tools.
    • Familiarity with engineering department procedures and project standards.
    • Construction interface experience and problem-solving skills.
    • Authorized to work in the US without sponsorship.
