Our beautiful and modern dental office located in Huntsville, Alabama is looking for a highly motivated Dental Hygienist to join our team. We are looking for a team member with a great attitude who is compassionate and loves treating children

Our ideal candidate is passionate, experienced, skilled, harmonious, and possesses strong communication skills. We strive to meet the high expectations of our patients and work as a team to support one another.

We are looking for someone who can work part-time or full-time. The candidate must be able to provide proof of an active Alabama Hygiene License and CPR certification.

Responsibilities

Ensure patients feel as comfortable as possible before their examination.
Obtain a complete and up to date medical history prior to treatment.
Sterilize dental instruments correctly.
Conduct initial mouth screenings and check oral health history.
Identify conditions like gingivitis, caries or periodontitis.
Clean and help protect patients' teeth (e.g. remove plaque, calculus or apply fluoride).
Educate patients of all ages on proper teeth care. (e.g. demonstrating good brushing and flossing techniques).
Give instructions to patients after dental procedures.
Take X-rays.
Assist dentists with selecting appropriate treatments for various diseases (including oral cancer).
Maintain documentation and charts on each patient.
Work directly with dental hygiene assistants.
Monitor supplies.

Skills

Proven experience as Dental Hygienist or similar role.
In-depth knowledge of health and safety regulations in this profession (e.g. HIPAA).
Experience in preparing and maintaining dental equipment.
Outstanding communication skills.
A patient and friendly personality.
Attention to detail.
Stamina to meet the physical demands of the job.
Valid Alabama Hygiene License.
CPR certification.
