Job Description

Campus Support Part Time: non-exempt, part-time; on average 21-28 hours per week. Reports to Campus Support Supervisor.

Summary

The Campus Support Department is located in Omega's parking lot where team members greet arriving and departing guests, staff, and faculty. Duties include parking facilitation, luggage transport; organize on-site Omega transportation services, dorm kit sales, and providing individual logistical support. Campus Support also coordinates with Reception, Guest Services, and Faculty Support in order to provide effective customer service. Campus Support staff ensure luggage is labeled correctly in order for it to be delivered to and from the parking lot in an efficient manner.

Essential Functions

• Greet all arriving and departing guests.

• Assist guests with loading and unloading luggage.

• Clear understanding of Campus Support Luggage System.

• Organize luggage accordingly and transport to the corresponding location.

• Organize luggage accordingly so guest's luggage is organized and easy to find.

• Strong communications skills.

• Knowledge of the Omega campus.

• Provide customer service assistance.

• Trustworthy attitude to ensure guests luggage is handled with care.

• Assist guests with directions.

• Replenish luggage tags.

• Omega vehicle maintenance.

• Ensure the parking lot and platforms are clean.

• Other duties as assigned by Supervisor.

Work Details

• This position functions on the Omega campus. All work hours are performed outdoors.

• This is a part-time position, 21-28 hours a week, depending on operational need. The day-to-day schedule varies, and weekends and evening shifts may be required. 

• Part Time Seasonal Staff live in tenting areas on Omega's campus. The individuals are assigned a platform that is tarped to provide rain coverage. Staff bring their own tent (no larger than 10x10).

Physical Requirements

• Ability to frequently move items that weigh 50 pounds for various needs.

• Ability to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time.

• Ability to traverse a hilly campus in diverse weather conditions.

• Ability to position self to perform diverse job tasks as necessary.

• Ability to communicate information and ideas so others will understand.  Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.

• Ability to work in a constant sate of alertness and safe manner. 

• Ability to observe details at close range.

Required Experience/Qualities 

• Some computer skills.

• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.

• Detail oriented.

• Timely, reliable and service-oriented individual.

• Team player and ability to work under pressure. 

• Valid Driver's License. 

• Alignment with Omega's Mission, Goals and Core Values.

Compensation   

Part Time seasonal staff work between mid-May through late-September and receive a compensation package that includes:

• Wage   

• Three delicious meals per day in our mostly vegetarian Dining Hall   

• Access to Omega's staff benefits  

This compensation package is at minimum equivalent to the New York State minimum wage.
