    Description

    The Academy of Notre Dame de Namur, an independent, Catholic, college-
    preparatory, all-girls day school in Villanova, PA, seeks an experienced
    music teacher and choral director for full-time employment to join the Visual
    and Performing Arts Department starting August 15, 2024. We are looking
    for an educator with a strong knowledge of choral music, the ability to teach
    a range of music classes, and directing school choirs for performances,
    liturgies, and community prayer. Preference will be given to those with 6-12
    grade classroom experience, especially in an independent school setting.

    Responsibilities:
    --Leads the school's liturgical singers and plays the piano for the school
    liturgies.
    --Prepares and accompanies chorale groups for performances
    (Winter Concert, Spring Concert, community performances, etc.) as
    scheduled.
    --Maintain, diversify, and grow the choral music library.
    --Select appropriate repertoire and arrange music pieces for the choir's
    performances.
    --Organize and run auditions for upper school chorale and middle school
    chorale.
    --Teach general music classes on the middle and upper school levels
    --Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment that encourages
    creativity, expression, and teamwork.
    --Conduct engaging and interactive music classes that cater to diverse
    learning styles and abilities.


    Requirements:
    --Bachelor's Degree in Music Education or a similar degree
    --Experience as a Choral Director
    --Experience as a pianist, accompanist, and vocal proficiency
    --Previous experience teaching (including leading performances)
    preferred
    --Strong communication, and interpersonal skills, and pedagogy of
    music

    The ideal candidate will have experience in musical theater production and
    direction and will be excited to work on the fall upper school musical and
    winter middle school musical performances.
