Job Summary

We are seeking skilled TIG pipe welders to join our team. The ideal candidate will have at least three to five years of experience with x-ray pipe welding and the ability to weld in all positions, including mirror welding.

Responsibilities

• Plan, layout, weld, install, test, and repair various types of pipes and tubular products according to plans, specifications, codes, and industry standards.
• Work collaboratively with other crafts as instructed by supervision.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Comply with company, federal, state, and local safety, ethics, and environmental rules, regulations, and policies while performing duties.
• Maintain regular attendance and be able to work flexible hours, including overtime, weekends, and holidays.
• Review layouts, blueprints, diagrams, or work orders before welding or cutting metal components.
• Complete high-quality welds using appropriate equipment and materials.
• Install and verify the operation of high-pressure steel pipes and fittings.
• Repair damaged pipes, fabricate and install metal fittings, install supports, valves, and other control equipment, and bolt, clamp, or weld parts to secure them in position for welding.
• Use hand and power tools to measure, cut, assemble, weld, and install various types of pipes and tubular products.
• Test installed piping systems and install other related items according to applicable plans and specifications.
• Set up equipment and weld parts using arc, gas-shielded arc, submerged arc, or gas welding equipment.
• Troubleshoot equipment and perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent plus three to five years of pipe welding experience desired.
• Working knowledge of equipment, work processes, and techniques used in measuring, fitting, and welding steel.
• X-ray pipe welding experience with the ability to weld pipe in all positions and mirror weld.
• Knowledge of welding symbols, ship terminology, Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), and American Bureau of Shipbuilding (ABS) standards.
• Must pass SMAW 6G Pipe Test to become ABS Certified.

Salary Information

The estimated salary range for this position is $60,000 - $80,000 per year, depending on experience.
