    Job Responsibilities


    With our Agency's mission to support the recovery of people with mental illnesses, we provide a complete array of medical and support services for children, adults, and families throughout South Carolina.


    • This position is located at the Aiken-Barnwell Mental Health Center, 1135 Gregg Highway, Aiken, SC 29803.
    Job Purpose


    • Under general supervision, provides intensive family services, in the home/community using, evidenced based services (safe, effective and measurable) to promote and support the recovery of persons with mental illness.
    Job Functions


    • Provides 720 patient care hours annually.
    • Ensures patients are seen in accordance with their needs.
    • Completes clinical documentation using collaborative documentation.
    • Ensures patient functionality is measured by the DLA-20.
    • Participates in clinical supervision, treatment team meetings, pursues professional development, and demonstrates effective use of social interpersonal knowledge and skills.
    • Reviews caseload weekly for timely discharge, engagement, transition, and follow-up.
    • Completes documentation according to QA/SCDMH standards, Complies with Corporate Compliance Policy and Risk Management Plan, and ensures timely completion of prior authorizations.
    • Performs other duties as needed.
    Minimum and Additional Requirements

    State Requirement:
    A master's degree in guidance, counseling, the social sciences or a related field.

    Agency Requirements:

    A master's degree in social work, guidance, counseling, or the social sciences and one (1) year post-graduate experience providing counseling/treatment.

    Candidate must be licensed; or license eligible by the state of South Carolina and willing to pursue license.

    Preferred Qualifications


    Agency Preferences:

    • Thorough knowledge of methods, principles, & practices of clinical counseling education, and knowledge of psychopathology and patient management in a psychiatric setting.
    • Considerable experience working with children, adolescents and their families.
    • Must be LMSW, LMFT or LPC license eligible.
    • Employee will be provided supervision by the Chief of Intensive Family Services and via consultation with CAF treatment team, Program Manager, and Psychiatrist.
    • Ability to lift 5lbs.
    • Operate a state vehicle (as applicable to position).
    • Position is considered essential and may be called back during crises/disasters/emergencies.
    • Bilingual abilities in English and Spanish (or another language) are a plus.
