    Job Description and Duties

    PARK AIDE - CURATORIAL (SEASONAL) – CAPITAL DISTRICT

    Priority consideration will be given to any person receiving State public assistance under the CalWORKS program. Applicants who receive State public assistance need to identify their status as a CalWORKS recipient in the comments area on the application. Applicants must submit a verification of their CalWORKS eligibility status, which may include the most recent Notice of Action showing TANF eligibility or a copy of your last aid check stub. If verification is not submitted with the application, the application will not be processed. (Applicants may obtain verification from the CalWORKS program).

    Under the supervision of the Museum Curator III, the Park Aide will assist the Exhibit team, Design team, Archives team, Curatorial team, or the other Cultural Resources teams at historic sites in the Capital District with computer research, as well as email and phone correspondence. This position will support the team with development and maintenance of exhibits and/or preservation of objects and archival collections within park units in the Capital District. Duties may include research, writing, and photographic and video documentation. Key components of this position will be computer based. The Park Aide (Seasonal) must possess good interpersonal skills and work cooperatively with other employees, volunteers, and vendors.

    The primary reporting location is 111 "I" Street in Sacramento near the California State Railroad Museum but may be assigned to other park units including the Statewide Museum Collections Center. This position will work up to four (4) to five (5) days/week between Monday through Friday, 8:30 AM – 5 PM. Occasional weekend or evening hour assignments may be scheduled. This is a seasonal position, not to exceed 1500 hours in a calendar year.
