    POSITION OBJECTIVE
    (State the purpose of this job and reason for existence)

    The Staff Engineer position in Marketing/Sales Management exists in order to monitor the performances of Business Divisions including Sales, Marketing, Distribution, and other business operations, and assist each Business Division to improve its performance in the most efficient and effective manner, by reducing costs and maximizing Company profit.

    This position also acts as a major coordinator among Business Divisions and Service Departments, and also between FPCUSA and FPC Taiwan by providing effective comminication and preparing various management reports for Top Management review and decision making.


    MAJOR AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY

    Review Business Division sales contracts by performing profitability analysis, and suggest for pricing or other improvements, where applicable to increase company profit.

    Monitor marketing/sales activities to ensure that the corporate marketing systems and procedures are fully implemented in each Business Division, coordinate between Business Divisions and Management Center to evaluate, analyze, and propose for modification of systems and procedures to improve process efficiency.

    Provide the related language translation and assistance between FPCUS Executive and Taiwan executives.

    Assist each Business Division to manage the production/sales planning, inventory control, internal transfer price, profit forecast and analysis to maximize company profit.

    Monitor Distribution performance through performance reports and Philip Townsend Benchmarking result to ensure that Business Divisions understand the best industry practice and that continuous improvements are made to achieve the best industry performance.

    Review Business Divisions Expense Budget to ensure that it is realistic and under-control.
    Coordinate and optimize Business Divisions (such as Vinyl Chain) sales planning and business strategy to maximize company profit.
    Coordinate and generate FPCUSA Annual Income Projection for financing purposes and to assist in Top Management's decision making.
    Provide communication between Business Divisions and Taiwan related divisions to increase operational effectiveness and efficiency.
    Perform special assignments as instructed.
    III. QUALIFICATIONS
    A. TECHNICAL JOB CRITERIA

    (Minimal Technical Requirements)
    Previous Related Experience Required
    Preferable 1-3 years working experience in chemical/plastics Industry.
    Technical Skills Required To Perform This Job
    MS Office skills such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc., excellent mathematical skills,
    and/or engineering quantitative analysis skills.
    Education

    (Minimal Education Needed)
    Bachelor of Science in Engineering is preferred,
    Other Certification/Training Required To Gain Function-Related Technical
    Knowledge
    Continual development as required such as: Standard Operating Procedure, Master
    Training Plan, Legal and Ethical Training, and other internal and external training as
    planned, developed, and prescribed.

    Cooperate with business divisions to compile/prepare monthly/quarterly/annual reports, which are requested by Executives and FPC Taiwan.
    Provide language translation with the meeting assistance/arrangement between FPCUSA and FPC Taiwan
    Develop/modify Management System and Procedure to standardize business operation as well as to improve process efficiency.

    Monitor Distribution Cost performance by issuing a monthly report comparing current month performance and the historical data; investigate abnormal variances and provide explanations.

    Understand/learn all FPCUSA related plants, product grades, cost/price structures,
    CTA1, etc., and perform the profitabilty analysis according to the business needs.
    Resolve Business Divisions daily business transaction issues such as sales return, divert sales, inventory adjustment, etc.

    • Identify and resolve marketing/shipping related problems by generating/coordinating improvement projects to improve efficiency and save costs.
    • Review Sales Contracts and propose for contract terms modification where
    necessary to maximize profit.

    • Review Business Divisions Selling Expense Budget to ensure that it is realistic and under control.
    • Coordinate with business divisions for the sales planning and business strategy. 11.Prepare Monthly Closing Profit/Loss explanations to top management.
    • Calculate On-Time Shipment performance and Production Cost Benchmark for
    Business Scorecard as well as Business Group Performance Reward Program use. 13.Perform Railcar Loading Weight Analysis to improve the loading performance. 14.Prepare the data of 'Loaded Railcar Held in Plant/ SIT Site for over 90 days' for PO
    Business Division to monitor the slow moving cars at plant and SIT sites.

    • Prepare Monthly Performance Report for Marketing/ Sales Mgmt including improvement projects and major activities.
    • Prepare certain recommendation reports and staff comment reports for the department/ division.
    • Collect required data using AS/400 Query function or Powerplay Datawarehouse for department manager's further analysis.
    Cooperate with MC to prepare the corporate scorecard assigned by department
