- Associate degree in Criminal Justice, Business or Public Administration and five (5) years experience in security, law enforcement or an airport environment, or an equivalent combination of training, education and experience.
- Previous experience handling working dogs or training dogs preferred.
- Knowledge of 49 CFR Part 1542 desired.
- Special knowledge of canine health requirements as well as explosives handling and transportation desired.
- Must have the ability to respond to the airport within 45 minutes during an emergency.
- Must be able to work in highly stressful situations and be in good physical condition.
- Must possess good oral and written communication skills and be computer literate.
- Must successfully complete and obtain TSA certification within nine months of hire and annual certifications thereafter; requires three (3) year commitment upon successful completion of the TSA EDCT handler course.
- Must be able and willing to work rotating shifts to include early mornings, late nights, holidays and weekends.
- Valid Florida driver license required.

Description
Provide Explosives Detection Canine Team (EDCT) response to the Greater Orlando Aviation Authority and surrounding communities. Establish and conduct effective inspections, sweeps and training to ensure Transportation Security Administration (TSA) standards are maintained. Conduct emergency/routine security sweeps for the detection or deterrence of explosive threats in the airport environment. Interact with various departments and agencies in maintaining airport security. Responsible for establishing and conducting effective training of the EDCT and performs daily health and welfare care of the canine. Perform other duties as assigned.
