    Duties / Responsibilities of this position:
    • Fleet/Facility Mechanic will efficiently perform quality repairs on all classes of forklifts and industrial equipment, (scissor lifts, boom lifts).
    • Ensure all reactive and planned proper maintenance and repair is performed on all forklifts, material handling and industrial equipment assigned, in a timely manner.
    • Diagnose breakdowns, obtain technical and parts information to repair all forklifts and industrial equipment.
    • Paint and badge all equipment to maintain LLP high appearance standards.
    • Project a positive image by interacting with fellow employees, peers and management in a cooperative, supportive and courteous manner, while continuously practicing safe work habits.
    • Engage in ongoing forklift manufacturer training through company sponsored programs.
    • Coordinate and implement all battery maintenance and testing.
    • Properly maintain waste stream and environmental aspects of this maintenance in accordance with company standards.
    • Maintain the ability to work in a constant state of alertness and safe manner. Constantly monitoring the entire fleet for safety hazards, compliance and continually working to resolve these issues quickly.
    • Maintain proper records of all equipment serviced and maintained. Recommend upgrades when identifying trends of frequent downtime or increased maintenance costs.
    • Assume responsibility of ordering and maintaining crib inventory, to include acquisition of necessary hardware, critical spare parts and routine maintenance items.
    • Consult with internal and external sources for evaluation, recommendations, and improvements to forklifts and fleet.
    • Request tools and supplies needed for the maintenance of lift trucks and fleet trucks. Request outside contractor interaction of major repair if necessary.
    • Grow this position to a larger role after defining optimal time to spend on current fleet to include additional mechanic/technician skills (like air handling units, generators, electric mold moving cart, bulk material robot maintenance, etc....)
    Environmental Responsibilities
    • Responsible for proper handling and storage of waste for subsequent off-site disposal.
    • Responsible for all forklift batteries maintenance activities and compliance.
    Job Requirements:
    Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
    • High school diploma or GED minimum
    • Minimum of two years of certified forklift maintenance in both electric and propane powered forklifts.
    • Minimum of two years of mechanical experience
    • Valid driver's license
    • Ability to efficiently work within CMMS systems.
    • Strong communication skills
    • Proven track record of being result and detail oriented and able to make decisions.
    • Strong mechanical and electrical aptitudes, knowledge of electrical/electronic systems and hydraulics and internal combustion engines, and the ability to read and understand electrical and hydraulic schematics.
    • Technical degree, previous lift truck repair, welding experience, and knowledge of various types of testing equipment preferred.
