- Establish and oversee compliance with QM program policies and procedures.
- Communicate with the Chief Quality & Patient Safety Officer regarding quality management activities.
- Assist with QM staff orientation, job assignments, etc.
- Coordinate QM participation throughout facility, in hospital-wide measurement and assessment efforts.
- Assist the Clinical Quality & Continual Survey Readiness Manager with nursing quality initiatives.
- Develop and perform concurrent or retrospective quality studies for medical staff.
- Analyze quality data from all sources and direct to appropriate committees.
- Identify organizational opportunities for performance improvement.
- Assist with completion of an annual appraisal of performance improvement, risk management, and patient safety programs.
- Conduct meeting with various departmental leaders to review data relating to identification and evaluation of performance improvement activities.
- Review performance improvement on a monthly basis (and quarterly) to assure all opportunities for improvement are met.
- Maintain appropriate performance improvement files to ensure JCAHO compliance.
- Assist with compiling quarterly report for Board and Medical Staff regarding performance improvement reporting.
- Monitor performance improvement project action plans in collaboration with the team
- Participate in the aggregation, analysis of OPPE and FPPE, as well as entering quality data in physician performance profiles for reappointment.
- Establish surgical/invasive procedure review for appropriateness.
- Provide administrative, technical, education, and coordinating support to ensure effective, timely quality management activities.
- Protect the confidentiality of quality management activities.
- Coordinate organization wide grievance program ensuring timely resolution and communication of concerns.
- Investigate and analyze patient safety issues, errors, and adverse outcomes.
- Act as educational resource to staff, physicians, leaders, and board regarding areas of responsibility.
- Bachelor's Degree required; Master's Degree preferred.
- Current licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the state of Tennessee or compact state required.
- Over 1 year of experience as a Quality Manager required.
