Job Summary:
Our client is seeking an Electrical Design Engineer with experience in AC/DC power distribution systems, data centers, and mission-critical facilities.
The engineer will be responsible for electrical system design, power system analysis, switchgear configuration, and commissioning support. This role supports projects from pre-sales through construction and final commissioning.Key Responsibilities
Design AC and DC power distribution systems for data centers and telecommunications facilities
Develop single-line diagrams, wiring diagrams, and electrical schematics
Design UPS systems, standby generators, MV and LV distribution systems
Design and configure low-voltage switchgear and switchboards
Perform power system studies, load calculations, and generator sizing analysis
Design grounding systems and ground fault protection schemes
Support Building Management Systems (BMS) integration
Develop Bills of Materials (BOM) and technical documentation
Coordinate with mechanical, architectural, and construction teams
Ensure compliance with National Electrical Code (NEC), federal, state, and local codes
Review electrical submittals and construction drawings
Support Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT), Site Acceptance Testing (SAT), and commissioning
Provide technical support during construction and respond to RFIs
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience
Minimum 4+ years of Electrical Engineering experience
Experience in data center, telecommunications, or mission-critical environments
Strong knowledge of low-voltage switchgear and switchboard design
Experience with UPS systems, DC power systems, and standby generators
Knowledge of MV/LV power distribution systems
Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit
Understanding of Modbus, TCP/IP, RS-485, and Ethernet protocols
Knowledge of NEC and electrical installation codes
Ability to read and interpret electrical construction drawings
