Senior Scientist, Organic Chemistry

Direct Hire Fulltime Role

Salary Range: $80,000 - $110,000 per year

Location: Santa Clara, CA - Onsite Role

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Design and carry out the synthesis of haptens
• Prepare enzyme-conjugates and immunogens
• Research of patents
• Research and development of novel hapten synthesis
• Write-up of hapten synthesis procedures
• Present research and synthesis progress
• Troubleshoot chemistry-related problems in product development
• Synthesis of haptens and immunogens
• Review cross-reactivity issues for technical support and product development
• Train and oversee scientists in the Organic Chemistry department.

Requirements and Qualifications:

• Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry with 1-4 years of experience in organic synthesis
• 5-7 years of work experience
• Small molecule synthesis experience required
• Excellent record/lab notebook-keeping skills
• Excellent writing and communication skills
• Research publications in peer-reviewed journals
• Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint skills are essential
• Able to work in the cold room periodically, which is kept at 2 - 8°C °F)

Preferred Skills:

• Experience in the area of protein conjugation
• Immunoassay reagent experience

On-Job Training:

• Hapten synthesis
• Enzyme-conjugate preparation
• Immunogen preparation and characterizations
• Participate in group meetings and present progress of hapten synthesis
• Maintenance of labs
