    Job Title: Part-Time Health & PE Teacher
    Location: Nahant, MA

    Job Description:
    We are currently seeking a dedicated Part-Time Health & PE Teacher to join our team at an elementary school in Nahant, MA. This position offers the opportunity to work three days a week (Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday) during the regular school year (24/25 SY) with a schedule of 8:30 AM to 2:15 PM. Additionally, there is an extended school year (ESY) opportunity available on the same days from July 9th to August 8th.

    Responsibilities:

    • Develop and implement engaging health and physical education curriculum aligned with state standards and grade-level expectations to promote students' physical fitness, health awareness, and overall well-being.
    • Plan and deliver effective instructional lessons and activities that incorporate a variety of teaching strategies, resources, and equipment to accommodate diverse learning styles and abilities.
    • Teach students fundamental health concepts, including nutrition, personal hygiene, safety, and disease prevention, and encourage them to make healthy lifestyle choices and develop positive habits.
    • Lead students in physical education classes and recreational activities to help them improve their motor skills, coordination, teamwork, sportsmanship, and physical fitness levels.
    • Assess student learning and progress using a variety of assessment tools and techniques, such as observation, performance-based assessments, written assignments, quizzes, and tests, and provide timely feedback to students and parents.
    • Establish and maintain a positive and inclusive learning environment where students feel safe, respected, and supported, and where they are encouraged to participate actively and take ownership of their learning.
    • Collaborate with colleagues, administrators, and parents to support students' academic, social, and emotional development, and participate in team meetings, professional development activities, and school events as needed.

    Requirements:

    • Bachelor's degree in health education, physical education, kinesiology, or a related field required; master's degree preferred.
    • Valid Massachusetts teaching license or eligibility for licensure as a Health & PE teacher in the state of Massachusetts required.
    • Previous experience teaching health and physical education to elementary students preferred.
    • Strong knowledge of health and physical fitness concepts, curriculum development principles, and effective teaching strategies for elementary-aged children.
    • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills, with the ability to establish positive relationships with students, colleagues, and parents.
    • Commitment to promoting a healthy and active lifestyle and fostering a supportive and inclusive learning environment for all students.
