SUMMARY OF POSITION:

As part of a healthcare team, the nurse practitioner will assess, examine, diagnose and treat acute illness or injury related to traumatic mechanism.

May order, perform, or interpret diagnostic tests such as lab studies and imaging. May prescribe. Works in an inpatient critical care area.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION(S):

Master's degree in Nursing
Currently licensed to practice as a Nurse Practitioner by State of employment
Two years' prior experience as a nurse required
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification
Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification

PREFERRED QUALIFICATION(S):

Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS) certification
Fundamentals of Critical Care Support (FCCS) certification
