    Description

    Akkodis is looking for a Linux Systems Administrator to join our Client in the Biotech Industry located in San Diego, CA. This position will be responsible for optimizing and maintaining Linux cluster infrastructure, ensuring its reliability, security, and performance. This position will also maintain, upgrade, and provide support for the back-end systems and data analysis pipelines.

    Pay Range: $64/hr -$70/hr

    Responsibilities

    • Manage and optimize Linux cluster infrastructure, ensuring reliability and security, while promptly resolving system issues.
    • Install, configure, and integrate software packages, recommending improvements for system efficiency.
    • Develop automation scripts and documentation to streamline processes, and monitor and optimize system performance.
    • Work with the bioinformatics team to configure and optimize the system to support research initiatives.
    • Establish comprehensive backup, recovery, and disaster recovery protocols for the cluster.

    Requirements

    • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
    • Proven experience as a Linux System Administrator, with a strong understanding of Linux systems and networking.
    • Experience in SLURM configuration, management, and optimization in a GPU cluster environment.
    • Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Bash, Python) for automation tasks.
    • Familiarity with configuration management tools (e.g., Ansible, Puppet) and deployment and orchestration technologies (e.g., Docker, Singularity).
    • Advanced troubleshooting skills; must be an excellent troubleshooter in a complex and heterogeneous environment.
    • Ability to effectively communicate and translate requirements into concrete tasks.
