    Summary

    We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Director of Operations to join our defense electronics division. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in program execution, Operations Management and a passion for the defense industry. This position will play a key role in developing and executing the product strategy, managing the product lifecycle, and driving revenue and profitability within the assigned product line. This role requires a strategic thinker with strong leadership abilities and a passion for delivering high-quality products that exceed customer expectations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Engineering, Program management and Operations related to defense electronics.

    Bascom Hunter provides solutions to the Department of Defense (DoD) and Aerospace markets across various disciplines. Our BH Tech division currently provides products and services across four product lines: RF Systems, RF Components, Neuromorphic Processors and Photonics.

    Responsibilities:

    • Manage the product lifecycle from concept to end-of-life, ensuring product quality, performance, and profitability throughout.
    • Define product requirements and specifications based on customer feedback, market research, and business objectives.
    • Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) such as sales, margins, market share, and customer satisfaction, and take appropriate actions to achieve business goals.
    • Provide leadership and direction to the product management team, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and accountability.
    • Manage relationships with key suppliers and partners to ensure timely delivery of components, materials, and services.
    • Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and competitive landscape in defense electronics , and apply insights to inform strategic decisions.
    • Drive innovation and continuous improvement in defense electronics methodologies, tools, and processes to enhance efficiency, performance, and quality.
    • Lead and manage the defense electronics team in O'Fallon, MO, providing guidance, mentorship, and support to achieve project goals and objectives.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including hardware design, software development, product management, and manufacturing to deliver solutions that meet customer requirements and market demands.
    • Oversee the design, simulation, and optimization of systems, including amplifiers, filters, mixers, oscillators, and antennas.
    • Provide technical expertise and support to sales, marketing, and customer support teams as needed, including participation in customer meetings, product demonstrations, and technical presentations.

    Requirements:

    • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, system engineering, or related field; advanced degree preferred.
    • US Citizen with the ability to maintain a DoD Security Clearance
    • Minimum of 15 years of experience in engineering roles, with a proven track record of designing and developing defense electronics.
    • Results-oriented mindset with a focus on driving revenue growth, profitability, and customer satisfaction.
    • Deep understanding of defense electronics, including customer needs, competitive landscape, and market trends.
    • Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate cross-functional teams to achieve common goals.
    • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate data and insights into actionable strategies and plans.
