    The Technician is a vital member of the project crew, focused on boosting overall job site productivity, safety, and quality. Responsibilities involve various aspects of structured cable installation, such as pathway construction, rough-in, routing, Telecommunication Room setup, cable terminations, labeling, and bonding adhering to established standards.

    Core Duties & Responsibilities:

    • Support the project team with installation tasks as required.
    • Maintain job site organization and basic housekeeping proactively. Arrange materials, tools, and equipment, remove debris, and promptly address safety hazards.
    • Interpret floorplans, drawings, specs, and cut sheets.
    • Familiarize yourself with materials and methods related to structured cabling installation.
    • Understand tasks and seek clarification before execution.
    • Ensure compliance with customer security regulations.
    • Maintain a professional demeanor and appearance.
    • Travel: Expect minimal overnight travel (5%) in certain regions; however, extensive overnight travel (50%+) may be necessary in other areas. Willingness to travel as needed by E2 is essential.

    Education:

    • High School Diploma or GED required.
    • Obtain OSHA 30 certification within the first 2 weeks.
    • Preferably hold BICSI Installer 2 Fiber certification, a requirement for Tech III.

    Experience:

    • Minimum 1 year experience in Structured Cabling or related construction field.
    • Proficient in English (read, write, understand).
    • Ability to differentiate color codes.

    WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The standard work setting involves an indoor office and construction environment. Tasks may require the use of a computer and/or hand tools while sitting or standing for extended periods. While the noise level is moderate, regular physical activities include sitting, talking, using hands, stooping, kneeling, bending, pushing, pulling, reaching, standing, walking, lifting up to 50 pounds, moving up to 25 pounds, climbing ladders up to 20 feet, and working in confined spaces. Regular attendance is crucial, and occasional travel via various means may be necessary.
