    What is the role:


    As a Senior Software Engineer, you will be responsible for SW developer contributing to the completion and deployment of our 5G Core for both 3GPP Rel 15/16 5G.

    The SW covers all 5G core network nodes such as but not limited to, AMF/SMF/UPF/AuSF/PCF/UDR/UDM. In this role, you will leverage your 12+ years of expertise by starting with the core network development domain.

    This position will report to the Senior Director, Core Networks Communications, H/W & S/W 5G Networks and will work closely with other Engineering and communications Engineers.

    This position is based in our Dallas, TX office.

    What you will do:
    Implementation of 5G Core and all 5G core network components for user plane and control plane
    Implementation of new features for NTN communication in 5G Core, and network interfaces
    Implementation of new features for eMTC communication in 5G Core and network interfaces
    Creation of test cases for each node and application of 5G Core and functionality
    Verification of AMF/SMF/AuSF/NEF/PCF/UDM/UDR/UPF and other 5G network core functionality and using test equipment, real and/or simulated gNB and UEs.
    Debugging of SW implementation errors
    Documentation of implemented work
    Integration of 5G Core control and user plane with gNB
    Integration of 5G Core with BSS/OSS/EMS systems
    Effort estimation of implementation of Core development tasks
    Reporting on progress of SW implementation
    Handling of customer request related to 5G Core
    Team player and agile SW development practices
    Familiar with SDR and SoC architectures
    What you will bring to the role:

    MSc/MEng in Electrical/Communications Engineering or equivalent
    12+ year of experiences in programming in C/C++ for real-time and near real-time applications
    Significant experience as an embedded C/C++ software developer
    Working knowledge of Matlab
    Working knowledge of network virtualization and microservices based architecture
    Working knowledge of Perl/Python scripting language
    Ability to read and understand 3GPP rel 15/16 all relevant standards for our 5G Core
    Ability to derive algorithms and /or implementation out of 3GPP rel 15/16 all relevant standards for our 5G Core
    Ability to develop and analyze algorithms by means of Matlab and/or C language or C++
    Ability to analyze and develop standard 5G Core interfaces with low latency,
    Ability to analyze and develop 5G Core features in SW based on abstract I/F description
    Ability to implement SW test cases suitable for verifying the to be implemented 5G feature
    Ability to generate test cases and verification metrics for 5G Core and execute unit/functional/regression test cases together with QA department
    Understand the constraints of Real Time SW
    Ability to write Make files
    Ability to write scripts in languages such as Perl or Python
    Ability to work with Teamcity or equivalent build server
    Ability to work with JIRA or equivalent Issue Tracking System
    Ability to handle SW within a gitlab repository
    Ability to document project results within a Confluence or equivalent Wiki project
    Ability to understand and work according company specific ISO-9001 implementation
    Ability to understand and work according SCRUM/Continuous Integration working methods
    Do Customer project reporting to internal project team and/or CA management

    $50,000 - $210,000 a year The estimated range is meant to reflect an anticipated salary range for the position in question, which is based on market data and other factors, all of which are subject to change. Individual pay is based on location, skills and expertise, depth of relevant experience, and other relevant factors.
