PrimeCare Medical, Inc. (PCM) has been in operation since 1986. We are a private, physician founded, nationally accredited correctional healthcare practice.

PCM provides comprehensive medical & mental health care services to 80 county jails, prisons, and juvenile detention centers throughout the states of PA, MD, FL, NY, & NH.

Correctional medicine is a unique, challenging, and exciting opportunity for today's mental health professional in that it provides the ability to truly utilize all of your learned clinical skills and knowledge on a daily basis.

Correctional health care is the perfect hybrid of Outpatient & Inpatient Psychiatry; We are presently seeking a Full-Time Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) to provide on-site mental health care services at the Lehigh County Prison in Allentown, PA.

This is a 40 hour/week position, Monday's - Friday's, during normal business hours.

Assume responsibility for clinical practice in accordance with NCCHC/ACA Standards, PCM policies and procedures, and within scope of practice for a certified registered nurse practitioner / physician assistant.

Provide services to the inmate/patient population utilizing current standards of care in psychiatric practice.
Work schedule will be at times that are mutually agreeable to psychiatric provider, facility administration, and PCM.
Visit and provide psychiatric treatment to confined inmate/patients (restricted housing/behavioral units).
Consult with medical director or attending physician to seek advice and expertise in their respective areas of practice.
Be available to provide psychiatric consultation to all professionals (physicians/nursing) within the unit.
Provides follow-up care for patients with active mental illness.
Evaluate all patients referred by medical staff, mental health staff, and facility staff.

Refer inmate/patients in need of involuntary hospitalization to on-site psychiatrist or the director of mental health to facilitate physician evaluations and commitment hearing.

Submit copy of professional license and other credentialing documents to the corporate office.
Work collaboratively with psychologists, and other mental health staff.
