Job Description:

We are currently seeking a skilled Surgical Technologist to join our team in Ithaca, NY, for a contract position.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for assisting surgical teams before, during, and after surgeries.

This role requires a detail-oriented individual with strong organizational skills and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare operating rooms for surgery by setting up surgical instruments and equipment.
• Assist surgical teams during procedures by passing instruments and supplies.
• Maintain a sterile field during surgical procedures to prevent infections.
• Handle surgical specimens according to established protocols.
• Anticipate the needs of surgeons and other team members during surgeries.
• Ensure all equipment is properly sterilized and maintained.
• Collaborate with nurses, surgeons, and other healthcare professionals to ensure patient safety and satisfaction.
• Adhere to all hospital policies and procedures related to surgical services.

Requirements:

• Completion of an accredited Surgical Technologist program.
• Certification as a Surgical Technologist (CST) preferred.
• Prior experience working as a Surgical Technologist in a hospital or surgical center setting.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work well under pressure and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Willingness to take call as required.
• Must be available to work 3x12hour shifts per week.
