The Crane Operator Education Coordinator is responsible for leading and standardizing crane operator education, certification, and compliance efforts across all Cianbro Companies and markets. This role ensures consistent education, evaluation, licensing, and regulatory alignment while supporting safe, efficient crane operations company-wide. This position will report to the Cianbro Development Manager.
Job Responsibilities:
- Coordinate crane operator education in all markets.
- Collaborate with all Cianbro Companies to ensure consistent and efficient education and evaluation practices.
- Monitor and update all NCCCO Certification and arrange classes for both practical and written tests.
- Monitor operator's state licenses and forecast license needs.
- Interview and evaluate potential new hire crane operator applicants.
- Work closely with all staffers to place operators in the best position and crane per their experience, license and certification.
- Perform job sites visits to observe operators and ensure safety compliance is met.
- Track crane operator apprentice experience.
- Contribute to crane related incident investigations when requested.
- Monitor changes in the ASME B30 and OSHA laws and regulations.
- Monitor Crane Safety and Safe Rigging Bulletins.
- Develop and deliver new education programs and update current curriculum.
- Work with state officials and monitor regulations for changes.
- Maintain the SWE and equipment.
- Serve as a SME to operations.
- Annual Meetings
- 2 ASME Meetings per year.
- Apply for ASME "supporting member" role.
- 2 NCCCO Commissioner meetings along with 2 MCEMC meetings (Done at the same time. Spring and fall).
- 1 NCCCO MCEMC meeting (summer or winter).
- Maintain a clean, organized, and compliant development environment.
Qualifications/Requirements
- 10 years of experience and strong working knowledge of crane operations.
- Must be willing to obtain a CCO Practical Exam Proctor credential.
- Be elected to the NCCCO Commissioner seat, and MCEMC.
- Must be proficient in or learn Microsoft Suite of products, specifically Word and PowerPoint.
- Proficiency with education records, learning management systems (LMS), and compliance documentation.
- Instructional and presentation skills for classroom and hands-on training.
- Nimble and adaptable with a willingness to shift gears and travel with confidence on short notice.
- Assessment and evaluation skills.
- CDL class B minimum.
- Hold multiple state licenses for crane operation.
