    Geotechnical Department Manager

    Location:
    Auburn Mills, MI


    Salary:
    $110,000-$130,000/yr


    Schedule:
    Full-time On-site


    Central Texas Recruiting is seeking a Geotechnical Department Manager to oversee a diverse portfolio of geotechnical engineering projects in Oakland County.

    This role provides strategic leadership, operational oversight, financial management, and cross-department coordination.

    The manager will guide project teams, maintain high-quality standards, develop departmental policies, manage client relationships, and support the growth and performance of the geotechnical department.

    Key Responsibilities

    Develop long-term departmental goals and business plans
    Manage annual capital budgets and contribute to organizational strategic planning
    Collaborate with Business Development to build and execute BD plans
    Lead preparation of project proposals, scopes, schedules, and resource plans
    Monitor departmental productivity and chargeability targets
    Ensure quality control for geotechnical and CMT projects
    Coordinate work with architects, civil engineers, structural engineers, and technical staff Develop and enforce departmental policies and procedures
    Maintain compliance with codes, regulations, and QA/QC standards
    Mentor and develop junior and mid-level staff Review and approve departmental expenses and project budgets.

    Qualifications & Requirements

    Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field
    Michigan PE License or ability to obtain
    10+ years of geotechnical/civil engineering experience with increasing responsibility
    Proficiency with geotechnical engineering software and Microsoft Office
