- Outpatient orthopedic radiology setting
- Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM shifts
- Patient population includes orthopedic and potentially post-surgical cases
- Work may take place with a fixed radiology unit or portable equipment in various settings including OR and ER
- Use of PACS and Radiology Information System (RIS) for image and data management
- Assignment is for 13 weeks
- Potential to float to a nearby sister hospital
- Perform radiologic procedures under direction of a Radiologist following department protocols
- Explain examination procedures, prepare patients, and obtain necessary clinical information
- Maintain high standards for patient safety, privacy, and comfort
- Operate imaging equipment, shield patients, and apply ALARA radiation safety techniques
- May administer IV contrast and monitor patients for reactions if applicable
- Responsible for accurate documentation in patient records and radiology information systems
- Participate in teaching and supporting new hires and students as needed
- Adhere to team member standards of communication, teamwork, and professionalism
- No blocked scheduling available
- Report to lab for drug screening within 24 hours of commitment
- Internal rules require RTO be listed prior to contract; later requests discussed after assignment starts
- Active Radiologic Technologist (MI) license required if applicable
- ARRT (R) certification required
- AHA BLS required
- Minimum of 2 years experience as a Radiology Technologist
- High school diploma or GED required
- Ability to meet physical demands including occasional lifting of equipment or patients over 10 lbs
- Completion of online modules and required training prior to start
