    Job Description:

    Reporting to the Director of Admissions, the Assistant Director of Undergraduate Admissions will maintain a counselor territory as well as more elevated duties. Therefore, the candidate will be responsible for recruiting, admitting, and enrolling a diverse and talented student body. Within this respective role, the chosen candidate will have general admission duties, including recruitment, outreach, application review as well as some project management and staff supervision at the discretion of the Director, including onboarding, training, staff meetings, and data tracking. Further, the chosen candidate will serve as a liaison for counselors and generate opportunities outside traditional school visits to promote counselor visibility, including the creation of the digital communications flow.

    Key Responsibilities:
    • Responsible for prospect generation, application development, and matriculation from assigned territory through various recruitment strategies. This includes helping train new counselors on critical admission processes and best practices.
    • Review and evaluate applications for completion, admission & scholarship decisions.
    • Schedule and facilitate high school and college day visits, attending college fairs in assigned territory.
    • Complete travel itinerary from assigned territory. Monitor and submit travel and expense reports on a weekly basis.
    • Demonstrate knowledge and expertise in all services available to students, including admissions process, financial aid and scholarships, academic programs, athletic eligibility, campus life etc.
    • Educate prospective students, families, and/or educational groups during on campus individual appointments as well as on and off campus group presentations.
    • Attend all on-campus recruitment events, including Preview Days, Open Houses, Scholarship Competitions, special group visit initiatives, counselor outreach events, and any other critical admission-sponsored event.
    • Attend off-campus recruitment-related events on an as-needed basis. This includes senior awards nights, college decision-making presentations, and panel discussions on admissions-related topics.
    • Assist other staff in recruitment outside of current territory assignment as needed, answering knowledgably counselor questions regarding process.
    • Maintain documentation and analytical tracking of territories through CRM tool.
    • Track documentation of counselors and assist them in successful outreach and enrollment.
    • Follow-up on all written and verbal correspondence, including voicemail, e-mail, social media, texts, and notice board contacts.
    • Attend all admission staff meetings and be responsible for reporting on assigned territory/responsibilities; in the absence of the Director, run the meetings.
    • Implement and monitor regular and ongoing communications from Slate to prospective students.
    • Keep current on trends in higher education.
    • Keep current on University-wide developments and new program opportunities.
    • Perform all duties as needed or assigned by the Director of Admissions or senior leadership team.
    Requirements:
    • Bachelor's degree
    • Minimum of two successful years in higher education admissions
    • Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment
    • Ability to multitask
    • Strong commitment to understanding the importance of teamwork and to fostering collaboration among others
    • Ability to work autonomously, set personal goals, and think independently
    • Excellent communication skills
    • Strong organizational and analytical skills
    • Some work outside the traditional business hours (8:00 AM to 4:30PM) including some weekends.
    • Valid driver's license and ability to travel
    • Preference will be given to those who have demonstrated a commitment to working with students who are seeking a small University experience through relationship-based recruitment.
    • Further preference given to any applicant that has experience working with client relation management tools (Slate) or student information systems (Banner).
