Description
Position Summary
The Box Office Manager will work closely with the Tessitura Database Manager, Box Office staff, and Marketing team to manage the day-to-day operations of the Box Office. Duties will include: ticket transactions, customer service, supervision of staff, and reconciliation of box office transactions. This position will also take lead on group sales and merchandise management. This position must exercise independent judgement, initiative, ability to problem solve, and diplomacy. Previous box office or retail experience is required. Previous experience with Tessitura, or other CRM/database, network required. Fluency in Spanish is desirable.
We are especially seeking candidates that love theater. This is a full-time (40 hours per week), exempt position, which is not eligible for overtime. This position includes a full benefits package: medical, dental and vision insurance, DTC-paid life insurance, voluntary life insurance and 403b programs, complimentary tickets and generous paid-time off. This position follows a 40-hour workweek, with hours varying based on show schedules. Some evenings and weekends are required

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Provide the Best Possible Patron Experience
o Make patrons feel welcome and promote a patron-focused environment
o Provide clear information about DTC performances, organization, neighborhood, and mission
o Prevent and resolve customer issues to mutual satisfaction
• Provide Insight into Patron Reactions and Concerns
o Document specific patron reactions to pricing, amenities, parking and other comments that patrons make on their experience
o Share impressions of patron satisfaction based on daily interactions
o Anticipate patron needs and concerns
• Manage and Record Box Office Activities and Transactions
o Manage recruitment, training, and management of part-time box office associates
o Manage regular public box office hours
o Manage Wyly Theater, Kalita Humphreys Theater, and Mobile Box Offices
o Manage online, phone, and in-person sales with patrons
o Manage cash deposits and reports
o Manage Comp ticket requests for shows and special events
o Assist with Tessitura training (led by Tessitura Database Manager)
o Assist with Tessitura reports (led by Tessitura Database Manager) o Assist with oversight of House Management and FOH Activities, as needed
• Perform work in a manner that is consistent with DTC's Mission, Vision, and Values.
• Be an active participant in DTC's work towards equity, diversity and inclusion and becoming an anti-racist organization.
• This position works onsite Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursdays at DTC's offices, with the option for remote work on most Mondays and Fridays. Some scheduling flexibility may be available with prior approval of the supervisor and Director of EDI & People Operations.
• This position follows a 40-hour workweek, with hours varying based on show schedules. Some evenings and weekends are required.
• Other duties as needed or assigned.
