    Job Description

    The primary purpose of this role is to ensure the quality of disposable food-service packaging during its manufacture.

    • Perform regular audits in all operations departments.
    • Collaborate with on-shift colleagues to effectively cover necessary areas and priorities.
    • Enter data into various databases.
    • Assist or perform laboratory testing requirements and measurement studies as assigned by the Quality Supervisor.
    • Conduct sanitation inspection audits as assigned.
    • Participate in on-the-job training for new auditors.
    • Perform MIL-STD 105E or RMA audits as required.
    • Report and analyze critical information to operations to correct quality issues in various departments.

    • Quick decision-making skills regarding product quality.
    • Ability to maintain audit schedules and perform essential duties.

    Education and Experience:

    An Associate's degree (AA) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school; or six months of training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Prior experience in a laboratory or auditor environment is preferred, with SPC training or quality experience being a plus.

    Language Ability:

    Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating instructions, and work instructions.

    Math Ability:

    Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

    Computer Skills:

    Proficiency in using a computer to send and receive email correspondence, enter audit data into SPC software and other systems, and have a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite including Access, Excel, and Word.

    No certifications needed.

    1. The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles.

    2. Extreme heat (non-weather).

    3. Exposure to high heat index during the summer months while in production area. Laboratory is climate controlled.

    4. The noise level in the manufacturing environment is usually loud.

    5. Noise level in laboratory has moderate noise.
