Description
Summary Assumes responsibility for the efficient operation of the Ultrasound Department in the absence of the manager. Oversees student sonographers and assigns or performs one-on-one supervision these students during their clinical rotations in the Ultrasound department. operates diagnostic ultrasound equipment and produces images of various organs and body parts. Ultrasound examinations performed include abdominal, cerebro-vascular, gynecologic, obstetrical, peripheral vascular, and small parts.Responsible for assuring a high level of quality in all exams and providing interpreting physician with all necessary information in order to make an accurate diagnosis.
# Education Associate of Science degree in health care related field and completion of an ultrasound training program OR successful completion of a two year ultrasound training program.
# Licensure/Certification CPR Certification.A valid certification in Ultrasound from one of the following certifying bodies:
American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers; American Registry of Radiologic Technologists. # Experience Minimum of 3 years ultrasound experience, including some leadership experience. # Other Qualifications Ability and knowledge of imaging the various anatomical structures and differentiating artifacts. Must be able to lift 75 lbs. , 150 lbs. shared lifting. Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills. Must be able to demonstrate a working knowledge of general computer skills and applications. Demonstrates ability to multi- task and work independently using critical thinking skills.
