    Our Mammography Technologists use exceptional communication skills to connect with patients, explain procedures and put patients at ease. With a caring attitude and keen attention to detail, they ensure patient comfort, safety and satisfaction every step of the way. They show their technical competence by effectively interpreting physician orders/instructions and selecting appropriate software options and imaging parameters to produce the highest-quality Mammography images/studies possible—enabling physicians to diagnose with pinpoint accuracy and treat with confidence.

    We are currently seeking a Full Time Mammography Technologist to join our team at the Jim & Eleanor Randall Breast Center in Pasadena, CA. The position will also support Huntington-Hill Imaging Center - Cordova in Pasadena, CA. We welcome you to apply and be part of a team who delivers a higher standard of care

    Pay Range: $44/hour - $50/hour

    The schedule is Monday-Saturday:

    • Weekdays from 10:00am - 7:00pm (variable between 8:30am-5:30pm and 11:00am-8:00pm)
    • Saturdays from 7:30am-4:10pm

    MUST HAVE CURRENT DIGITAL MAMMOGRAPHY CERTIFICATIONS (ARRT and CRT)

    • Performs high quality digital mammography imaging in accordance with established imaging center policies and procedures.
    • Performs stereotatic mammography biopsies and/or localization (as trained).
    • Provide thorough and attentive patient care throughout examinations.
    • Participate in a minimum of one continuing education course per year, maintaining a total of at least five continuing education units per year to meet MQSA, CRT and ARRT requirements.
    • Selects length and intensity for radiation exposure by adjusting technical factors to obtain the most optimal mammogram possible on each individual patient.
    • Evaluates the technical factors of positioning, compression, exposure, contrast, sharpness, noise, artifacts, collimation and labeling on every patient prior to dismissal.
    • Actively participates in the quality control/quality analysis program under the supervision of the lead interpreting radiologist and quality control technologist.
    • Maintain equipment cleanliness in accordance with established imaging center policies and procedures for infection control.
    • Process mammography exams thru PACS and MRS programs.
    • Authorizes release of patients upon completion of examinations.
    • Accurately completing all paperwork required for efficient patient tracking.
    • Maintains examination rooms. Stocks necessary medical and radiological/mammography supplies.
    • Participates in special projects either directly related to or outside the scope of mammography.
    • Perform X-Ray exams and will follow organizational policies and procedures for all exams.
    • Cross training and flexing through other department as needed.
    • Attends required meetings.
    • Maintains patient confidentiality.

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Two years of experience as a mammography technologist preferred.
    • Must have current ARRT and CRT mammography certifications in digital mammography.
    • High school diploma or GED.
    • Completion of courses in radiological technology and mammography approved by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT and Certified Radiologic Technology (CRT) for the State of California. Meet all requirements for MQSA qualification in digital mammography.

    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

    Knowledge of anatomy and physiology to sufficiently pinpoint areas for radiography and mammography with emphasis on body placement and positioning. Basic knowledge of radiology/mammography equipment and testing. Knowledge of safety hazards common to positioning patients to provide quality imaging. Skill in trouble-shooting equipment operation and performing simple adjustments.

    Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with patients, medical staff and the public. Ability to maintain quality control standards. Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations. Ability to interpret, adapt and apply guidelines and procedures. Ability to communicate clearly.

    Environment:
    Work is performed primarily in the mammography area with extensive contact with individuals and frequent interruptions.

    Physical Requirements:

    The employee may be exposed to radiation, blood/body fluids and/or infectious disease.

    More than 50% of the time:
