A gear unit consists of an electric motor powering a gearbox.

The motor spins at a specified revolutions-per-minute (rpm) and is connected to a small gear inside of the gearbox, which rotates a larger gear to reduce the output speed of rotation and increase torque.

The gearbox's spinning output shaft is connected to a system, such as a conveyor belt in a distribution center or food processing line.

Gear units like those produced at NORD are the reason garage doors go up, mixers spin, and rollers form steel.

We are currently looking for a Gearbox Assembler to join our assembly team on our 1st shift in Waunakee, WI.

The schedule is Monday

• Friday, 6:00 a.

m. - 2:30 p.m.

As a Gearbox Assembler you will be responsible for assembling, testing, and troubleshooting gear reducers, gear motors, and other drive components.

Assemble gearboxes per work order instructions.
Check work orders for accuracy.
Visually inspect parts for quality.
Test units for audible noises.
Rework and correct any noise or leakage problems.
Maintain the 5S program and Kanban system.
Be an active participant in the company's suggestion, quality, efficiency, and cost savings programs.
Perform other duties as assigned.


QualificationsEducation:
High school diploma or equivalent required

Experience:
Previous assembly experience preferred

Skills and Key Attributes:
Ability to read and write and basic math skills

Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift up to 50lbs. Ability to stand on feet and move around for up to 8-12 hours per day.
