We are hiring a Superintendent for County Road and Bridge projects!

Qualifications:

We are seeking an individual with extensive experience in heavy equipment operation for full-time road, bridge, or highway maintenance, coupled with a supervisory background.

A high school diploma or GED is a must, along with a blend of practical experience and/or education that equips the candidate with the necessary skills for the role. Holding a valid driver's license and a CDL (or the commitment to obtain one) is essential.

The ideal candidate should exhibit strong planning, organizational, communication, and leadership skills.

Responsibilities:

As the Superintendent, you will lead, direct, and ensure the successful execution of all County Road and Bridge projects in close partnership with the County Commission. The role extends to enhancing the efficiency and effectiveness of all operational areas under your supervision.

• Supervising Road and Bridge foreman and laborers
• Evaluating job requests and proposing procedural enhancements
• Planning and overseeing each project by coordinating resources, equipment, and inspecting work progress at sites
• Submitting necessary documentation to the Commission office upon project completion
• Ensuring the safe operation and maintenance of all department equipment
• Providing training to the team on County policies, procedures, and safety protocols
• Aligning team with management objectives
• Conducting annual performance evaluations, managing leaves, vacations, time records, and addressing employee concerns
