    Description
    SummaryOversight of contract and internal test car operations on G&W including coordinating schedule, purchase orders, monitoring defect correction, etc. with regions and railroads. Monitor performance of the test vehicles. Support Chief Engineer, Advanced Engineering with development and implementation of training and standards. Perform track inspection audits and assist in reviewing and developing capital plans as required.

    ResponsibilitiesEnforce Genesee & Wyomings Safety and Engineering PoliciesTrack daily production of data collection and adjust schedule as neededManage relationship at a corporate level with various third party service providersSupervise internal geometry testing teamCoordinate and provide information as needed to vendors for root cause analysisLead administrator for Electronic Inspection Recordkeeping ProgramTechnical Expert for testing, support, train, and assist Regions to attain top performanceProvide on-site training on how to interpret, manage, and use provided informationWork time will be allocated approximately 75% travel requiredEnsure compliance with FRA and Company requirements for track inspection, track testing, and employee training.

    Assist in developing and providing training for other required programs as necessaryTravel to support regions, perform training and oversee test car operations and monitoring of contract complianceRequired Skills And/Or ExperienceGeneral CompetenciesSolid analysis and problem solving abilityGreat Interpersonal and communication skillsStrong computer skills including Microsoft Office with proficiency with CAD software (Auto CAD or Microstation) preferred.

    Bachelors degree with 5 10 years related experience and or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience

    Education Preferred:

    Bachelors degree in EngineeringExperience preferred: 10 years related experience in the railroad industryMust have a valid drivers licenseThis position will be located in Jacksonville, FL.

    Any candidates outside of general commuting distance must be willing to relocate to Jacksonville, FLThis position is employed by the specific entity set forth in the job posting.
