    We have an outstanding opportunity available for an Infection Preventionist to join our team at our Ball Memorial Hospital location in Muncie, IN.


    The Infection Preventionist conducts targeted infection surveillance activities including investigation and responses to outbreaks of infections among patients and/or personnel.

    The Preventionist recommends and teaches appropriate preventative measures to control infection and assures compliance with recommendations from regulatory and accrediting agencies.

    This position will be a full-time day shift role, Monday-Friday. Prior experience in infection control preferred, and previous nursing experience a plus

    • Associates degree required. Bachelors preferred.
    • Knowledge of nursing and medical procedures; medical and environmental microbiology; infectious disease; epidemiology; asepsis and immunology preferred.
    • Requires knowledge of local; state; and national regulations and standards and their impact on infection control.
    • National certification in infection control preferred within 3 years from date of hire.
    • 3-5 years' experience in healthcare or related field is preferred. Prior experience in infection control preferred.
